ninomiya tamamushi 1896

This is the Tamamushi by Chuhachi Ninomiya.

He designed it to fly a person way back in 1896.

Many years later, in 1921, he was considered the "The Father of Japanese Aviation."

In 1991, some students from Kyoto U. built a modified version of this model.

It took off, fly for a few seconds and landed.
